Moses’s father-in-law, Jethro, pays a visit to impart some unexpected leadership advice. Miriam gets to know Moses’s wife Zipporah while Korah investigates an Egyptian imposter pretending to be an Israelite.
Moses instructs the people to consecrate themselves, then grapples with insecurity about Aaron’s popularity with the people. Miriam struggles to connect with the women of the tribes while Joshua guards Mount Sinai from young hoodlums.
Moses relays new laws to the people, then leaves with Joshua to spend 40 days and nights on the mountain. In Moses’s absence, Aaron loses control of the people, while Miriam faces obstacles in her mission to build a meeting tent for the women.
